Kiwi, New Zealand´s National Bird. The Kiwi
is the most famous of the birds peculiar to New Zealand.
However, its nocturnal lifestyle and the liking for dense rain
forest habitats make it extremely hard to observe, its
whereabouts usually only revealed by their
penetrating calls after dark.
